ABOUT THE SHOW
The inner workings of an artist's mind are always a curiosity--and because most artists keep a series of idea books that demonstrate the "making of" many of their most important pieces, we're offering this "Word Houses, Visual Journals and Idea Catchers" show to demystify the artistic process and to illuminate the process of their making.
The exhibit features journal works in progress, wordhouses, random sketches, illustrated discovery journals, watercolor journals, found-object journals, audio journals, video journals, "Artist's Way" morning pages journals, Lomo journals and other ways artists keep track of thoughts and ideas. Pages from selected journals will be blown up as posters to hang throughout the space. Journals will be on display and accessible for viewers to touch and read. Additionally, throughout the show, we'll be offering various journal playshops.
Opening Reception - Third Thursday, January 15, 2004 7pm - 9pm at 55 South First Street, San Jose (map). The artists have planned a wonderful opening reception full of inspiration, delightful entertainment, Open Mic and much much more. Exhibit runs from January 15th - Feb 28th.
